Terra Dotta University 2013
Connections to authentication portals and external user data systems can be a critical part of your site’s daily operations that grind a workflow to a near standstill when they aren’t functioning as they should be. Frustrated emails from potential applicants, recommenders, and staff members will make these high-priority issues that need to be resolved as quickly and effectively as possible. As an administrator responsible for getting the problems solved, you’ll want to have the most comprehensive and time-efficient methods for investigating and analyzing these reports.
This session will cover the three most common integration-related issue reports focusing on how to use the software’s built-in maintenance tools for troubleshooting. A step-by-step walkthrough of a template workflow for each will explain how to determine impact of integration issues, gather the most important relevant information, and find the quickest path to resolution. The first two issues will describe the processes when applicant information is not being found for new users and not being updated for current applicants. The last will cover the process for helping users report that they are unable to login to your site.
Learning about how to use the software’s maintenance utilities will be useful to IT server administrators unfamiliar with the software's functionality, but it can also be useful for non-IT office administrators that need to follow-up on these reports from their users.
